Nine Line Apparel's Operation Prom Dress helps make prom dreams a reality - fox28media.com Posted: 09 Mar 2019 01:19 PM PST SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTGS) — Nine Line Apparel played fairy godmother for high school girls across Savannah Saturday. The store hosted its second annual Operation: Prom Dress. The goal of the event is to provide prom essentials to underprivileged young women. Girls who came had the opportunity to not only take home the dress of their dreams, but also pick out jewelry, shoes and other things they might need to make their night special. Businesses in the community donated dresses, accessories and even alteration services. Some say they felt a special connection to the event. "I can definitely understand wanting to look the best that you can for such a special event and then not being able to afford that, so it feels really good to just, for one, make the dress fit the way that it should," said LaTricia Brown, CEO and Lead Designer Trish B' Stylin Design and Alterations. "I'm not going to lie to you, a couple of the girls have brought tears to my eyes because it was just such a huge impact for them." All of the dresses were $10 each. The money will go to the Nine Line Foundation to help further their initiative to build tiny homes for homeless veterans. |
